  • DESCRIPTIONS & INFORMATION

The Infernet canyon is located in the Chartreuse massif, just a stone's throw from Grenoble city centre and not far from Lyon.

The Infernet canyon is unique in the area, unusual and quite impressive. This fault is like a knife cut, with a depth of up to 80m. The atmosphere is simply magical.

You enter the river via a 25m abseil that plunges you straight into the heart of the matter. What follows is a canyoning descent that winds its way between the hills, alternating between abseils, small jumps and slides. You'll have plenty of time to do the obstacles over and over again, before finding the sun again only at the end!

It's the ideal way to discover this exceptional, timeless environment, which is easily accessible to beginners.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1I've never done canyoning before, can I register on the Infernet?
Yes, canyoning at Infernet is accessible to beginners and you don't need to be a great sportsman. You go there for the magical atmosphere at the bottom of the gorge.
2I'm a bit claustrophobic, is that a problem for the Internet?
It depends on your level of claustrophobia. It's a deep canyon, but it's an open canyon with wide open spaces most of the time. In the end, claustrophobia was never a problem in the Infernet.
3If the first call-back impresses me too much, what happens?
After discussion with the instructor, you can descend this beautiful abseil yourself if you wish. However, if you don't feel like it, the instructor can lower you without any worries. So there's nothing to do, just enjoy!
4Are there any jumps in this canyon?
Even if you go to this canyon more for its extraordinary atmosphere, you will still find a few jumps (not compulsory) and small slides.
5Is the approach and return walk very difficult?
The approach walk is downhill through the woods, with a few ropes in place. It poses no problem. The way back is a little steeper to find the access path, but it's nothing too complicated or strenuous either.
