  • DESCRIPTIONS & INFORMATION

The entire Furon canyon is simply a combination of the upper and lower sections of this timeless Grenoble canyon.

Located in the foothills of the Vercors, 15 minutes from Grenoble and 55 minutes from Lyon and Chambéry, this combination of the two sections makes for a fairly physically accessible canyoning day. We'll set off on the lower section in the morning, picnic at midday in a park, then take the cars (10 minutes) back up to the upper section in the afternoon. We'll be following the sun's rays all day long!

The lower part of the canyon offers a series of beautiful pools, syphons (not compulsory), jumps and abseiling descents, including the famous 20m tufa waterfall, an essential part of the canyon.

The upper part of the Furon canyon is more fun. Jumps of up to 9m (not compulsory), slides, zip wires and abseiling are just some of the activities on offer this afternoon, bringing the whole of the Furon canyon in Isère to a close.

A day of canyoning in a beautiful, lush setting, where the obstacles arrive gradually. The whole of the Furon canyon is a homogeneous course, suitable for young people aged 12 and over.

    Minimum age: 12 years
    Approach walk: 20 minutes
    Return walk: 3 minutes
Duration: 5 to 6 hours for the entire Furon canyon
Period: from April to the end of September (depending on conditions/flows in the years)

    FURTHER INFORMATION

Here are a few important rules for canyoning:

  • You must be able to swim and not be afraid of water.
  • You must not have any serious medical problems (heart or respiratory problems, back problems, prostheses or other serious antecedents).
Asthmatics must also be informed at the time of booking.

  • Don't hesitate to contact us if you find yourself in one of these situations (or others), and we can check together, on a case-by-case basis, whether or not canyoning is possible.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1Do we need to bring picnic bags for lunch?
No, there's no need. We'll return to the cars at the end of the lower section to picnic. You can take what you like in terms of snacks, but we won't be taking them with us into the canyon.
2Is this canyoning day accessible to beginners?
Yes, this day can be enjoyed by beginners who have never done canyoning before. There are no difficult obstacles on either the upper or lower sections, and they can all be avoided or negotiated in different ways.
3A whole day in a canyon, isn't that too sporty?
The upper and lower parts of the canyon are well separated. So it's a sporty day, but with a lunch break in a park. We'll take the time to recover our strength so that we're at our best in the afternoon in the upper part.
4For people who don't do the activity, is it possible for them to see us going down the river?
Yes, but only in the morning. There is an accessible path that follows the canyon on part of the Furon BAS. However, it's impossible in the upper section.
5Is it possible for part of the group to do the whole thing (full day) and the other part of the group only the upper part (half day)?
This day is in fact 2 separate canyons with a break at midday when we take the cars back. So it's quite possible that part of the group will do the full day and the other part will join us in the afternoon for the upper half.

    A WORD FROM THE GUIDES

    XAVIER
The whole of the Furon canyon is a great day full of emotions and an opportunity to stay cool for even longer! What I love is spending a whole day with the same people, and after having done the lower part in the morning, the afternoon in the upper part is a real treat to supervise!
    CHARLIE
It was a great day out, with a technical canyon in the morning and a fun one in the afternoon!
